Sunday Scorecard for January 29, 2023

I have to admit that I sort of let the first part of the week get away from me, but I made up for it at the end. With that said, my professional artist’s accountability checklist for this week is…

  • I created an unboxing video, posted it to YouTube, and then almost immediately took it down when I realized that I could save that content for future use. Just in case I ever need a filler video for a week where I am not feeling well or howling at the moon somewhere without internet access for a week.

  • I sent an email to the lucky SOBs on my mailing list. It’s only the second mass email I’ve sent since starting this new site, so it’s important to hone the skills (and get in the practice of communicating).

  • As part of the bullet above, I tested my new store to see if I can make a private product listing that is only accessible through an exclusive link. Sadly, it doesn’t seem like Squarespace (or at least my subscription tier) has that capability.

  • I started a new art experiment of drawing with soft pastels on stretched velvet. It did not go so well.

  • And finally, I connected with a brilliant artist who works mainly in black velvet. She is incredibly nice and I love her work. Check out Diane Von Bombshelter.

If you want to see me say these words out loud, check out this video link. I thought I’d try something new and just do the scorecard as a 1-minute short for use on YubTubz and Instcrap, but I wasn’t digging how the short form restrictions made me rush through thoughts. And I wasted time editing it down to 60 seconds. Next week, we’re back to my usual longform BS.
