Got That SICK DRIP (Artist Accountability Vlog - April 17-23, 2023)
This week I had the extreme pleasure of attending the Crop Creative Conference in Austin, TX. So that took up a lot of my time. It was a fruitful week, though. I met tons of rad people and even laid the groundwork for possible future speaking engagements. Crazy, I know!
To be honest, I didn’t really know what to expect going into it and had pretty low expectations. But man, was I blown away. It was incredible to spend three days surrounded by amazing designers and just pretty much cool people.
The “sick drip” (as the kids say) in this video is courtesy of The Flat Brim Farmer out of Austin. I snapped this hat up in a heartbeat but wasn’t foolhardy enough to trust a glass mason jar of pickled jalepeños to the American Airlines luggage handlers. Maybe I can pick some up when J-pop and I get back down to Texas next month. Trey and Melissa are really awesome folks and I had a great time talking to them during the Conference after-parties.
Aside from Crop, I finished a black velvet portrait of Macho Man Randy Savage and even managed to get it to glow under blacklights. So that’s cool.
I also continued uploading short-form videos to all the usual social platforms (with pretty meh results) and setup a Canva template to make sure my Instagram graphics look alright.
All in all, a very productive and exciting week!
