Sunday Scorecard 01/02/2023

Welcome to my brand-new accountability series, “Sunday Scorecard.”

Sure, I’m posting this on Monday, but the weather was too danged unseasonably nice yesterday to spend it inside doing video nerd shit. And no, the irony is not lost on me that my very first accountability video is a day late.

I mentioned in my previous post that I recently completed a 12-week professional training seminar with Coach Scotty Russell. One of the most valuable exercises for me was the weekly check-in, where I would set aside 30-60 mins every Sunday to rate how productive I was that week, reflect on what went right and what went wrong, and to count coup on my wins for the week.

Now that the program is over, I’d like to continue that weekly accountability in this (somewhat) public format.

So I will keep a weekly video diary of my challenges and accomplishments for the week. Then, whenever I get down on myself about not getting enough shit done, I can scroll back through these halcyon pages to remind myself that I am, indeed, a productive member of society.

Without further ado, here are my accomplishments for the final week of 2022.

This week, I…

  • Completed my brand-new website by adding a store page and a few pieces of merch. More to come on a regular basis!

  • Designed and ordered a few stickers to include as thank-you freebies when people order merch or art.

  • Designed a pretty rad shirt that makes me laugh (but won’t likely be for sale anywhere for obvious reasons).

A man with a mullet and blade sunglasses wearing a red shirt with a knock-off Coca Cola logo that reads "Enjoy Paint Water."
  • Wrote a 2022 Year in Review Blog post.

  • Navigated family holiday functions without getting schwasted.

  • Went with my gut and pulled the plug on a planned trip to Texas. Southwest was just being too fucky.

  • Used a circular saw for the first time in my life and am still attached to all of my extremities.

  • Built a drying rack/flat file shelf so in-progress paintings have someplace safe to dry.

  • Ran a poll on Instagram and Twitter to ask which cryptid I should paint first in 2023. Mothman beat Sasquatch by a landslide on both platforms, so watch for that soon!

If you’d like to be informed when I add cool new shit to the site, why not sign up for my newsletter?

PEACE!
