That Time I Gave Birth to a Fee-Jee (Fiji) Mermaid
Maybe it’s all the time I spent watching B&W shows with my grandpa when I was a young nipper, but I dig the hell out of dust bowl chic. Is “Dustcore” a trendy thing? I hope not. But if it takes off, remember that you heard the term here first.
Anyway.
When I got my happy little flappers on a funky 12x24 canvas, I just knew I wanted to whip up a traveling sideshow favorite…
”THE GEN-U-WINE, BON-A-FIDE, MUMMY-FIDE, FEE-JEE MERMAID! DIE-REKT FROM THE BALMY WATERS OF THE PACIFIC!”
So, I went ahead and painted one. Just for funsies.
This lovely sea lass (who might be half sea bass) isn’t so much mummy-fied as thriving. She’s also safety-conscious, what with her swim goggles and nose plug. Can never be too careful about getting cast-off isotopes all up in your head holes!
