Now this lovely lady is one of the finest things, one of the my favorite things that I've painted to date.
It's a genuine, bona fide, superfied, genuine Fiji mermaid like you'd see out there in the south Pacific. You know, back in the early 19 hundreds, the early nine, the early 20th century, they'd have those circus sideshow with all the freaks and oddities and things like that.
The Fiji mermaid was supposedly a mermaid that they caught off the waters of Fiji. And the display they had was just like a large fish with a mummified monkey body. Kind of stuck to it, velcroed to it. — Probably not Velcro. I don't think that existed at the time — Stuck to it.
And this is my take on the infamous Fiji mermaid.
The original art for this is an on canvas acrylic paint on canvas and probably still for sale in the shop.
Snap her up while you can, buddy.
